Overview

The Efest LUC V2 is a two-bay lithium-ion charger with an LCD that shows what each cell is doing. Two independent slots, a choice of 0.5A or 1A per bay, a USB port that turns it into a power bank, and the protections you want between a wall outlet and a high-drain cell.

Why we like it

Independent bays. Each slot charges on its own, so one dead 18650 doesn't hold up the other.

Selectable current. 0.5A is the gentle setting for smaller cells and for longevity. 1A is for getting an 18650 back in service faster.

You can see the voltage. The LCD shows each cell climbing toward 4.2V. It's how you notice a cell that isn't holding a charge before it fails in a mod.

Power bank in a pinch. Drop in a charged cell and the USB port will charge a phone.

Good to Know

Inspect the wrap first. A torn wrap or exposed metal around the positive end means the cell doesn't go in the charger. Re-wrap it or retire it.

Flat-top or button-top both work. The spring-loaded contacts take either. Watch polarity: positive toward the top of the bay.

Don't charge unattended for long stretches. Charge on a hard surface, away from anything flammable, and pull the cells when the display says they're done. Never carry a loose cell; use a case.

Need four bays or 2A charging? The LUC V4 is the same charger with more slots.
